5 min intake survey

Complete the survey that we will send to you so we can understand your artistic vision, and know exactly what you want.

How does it work?

STEP 1: Click a "GET STARTED" button.

STEP 2: Complete the form that will pop up, and ensure all your required options are selected before proceeding.

STEP 3: Submit your quote request.

STEP 4: Validate your email!

STEP 5: Add [email protected] & [email protected] to your address book so you don't miss any future communication from us!

STEP 6: Execute a payment for the full quote amount you received.

STEP 7: Complete the intake survey that we will send to you.

STEP 8: Prepare your files as described in the FAQ section "How do I prepare my files before uploading to TweakR Studios?".

No need to memorise it now... You will receive an email with all info needed once you placed your order.

STEP 9: Upload your files to [email protected] through a file sharing service of your choice like: wetransfer, google drive, dropbox, etc...

Don't forget to include your receipt number for easy reference!

STEP 10: We will assess your files for approval... (usually within 1 day)

STEP 11: Once we received your payment and approved your files, we 'll start working on your order. You will receive the main mix or master of your song within the timeframe you selected during checkout.

STEP 12: Start of the revision process... If any revisions or edits are needed, you can discuss them with the engineer.

STEP 13: Once you are 100% happy with the main mix, and signed off on it, you will receive all deliverables via email.

STEP 14: We will keep your files on backup for 6 months. During that period you can receive an extra copy of your files for a minor fee of €10 when needed.

If you prefer to discuss your project face to face, you book a timeslot and we will contact you correspondingly!

How do I prepare my files before uploading to TweakR Studios?

We prefer to work with .wav or .aiff files at a quality of 24bit - 44.1 Khz or higher. In the case high res. files aren't available it will depend on the quality of the files and the clients expectations before we decide to take on the job.

Export/print your mix with the same settings as your mix session. Name it "Artist/Band Name - Song Title".

Make sure that you didn't clip the stereo buss, and verify that you haven't cut anything off at the beginning and end of your song. (first note of an instrument, reverb/delay tails, etc...)

Make a folder and name it "Artist/Band Name - Song Title".

Add to the folder:

1. The exported/printed file of your song to be mastered.

2. At least 1 reference song in the same genre that has the sound and loudness you are after. (If you really can't get hold of the file(s) you can list the reference song(s) in the text file).

3. A text file containing: Song BPM, reference song title(s), and any additional important info, that you left out the intake survey, that can help us deliver exactly what you want.

If you are going to release your music on digital carriers (CD/USB/etc...), and want META - data embedded in the song file, you should also include the following in the text file:

ISRC (usisrc.org), NOTE: ISRC is Not mandatory.

ZIP/COMPRESS the folder. Name it "Receipt Number(mailed to you on purchase) - Artist/Band Name - Song Title".

Now you 're ready to upload the zipped/compressed archive file to [email protected] using a file sharing service of your choice.

What will I receive?

What is STEM mastering?

With STEM mastering the mix is split up into busses (drums, bass, etc...). The benefit of working in this way is that the engineer has control over each individual STEM. Resulting in the engineer being able to process and balance each individual STEM correctly to get the very best from the song.

You should only order STEM mastering if you think the mix of your song isn't at it's very best yet, and you or your mix engineer can't get it any better... If the mix is really bad even STEM mastering can't safe it and you will need to have your song mixed properly first!

Should I leave my mastering plugins active?

No, it is advised to remove all plugins you used to master your song. If you have plugins on your stereo buss where you mixed into since the start of the mix they are part of the mix and can definitely stay. Just make sure to remove the final limiter and everything you added after the mix!

Can you master an mp3?

Although this is NOT advised!!! If an mp3 is the highest quality file you have and you are unable to obtain a high resolution .wav file, we can work with it in a way that will still yield a better result. Off course it will be inferior than if you send us a high resolution file...

Will I get any feedback on the mix that I upload for mastering?

If there are any issues with the mix we will always contact you with suggestions on where to improve it before we continue with mastering.

If the mix is just not ready for mastering on many levels we will not proceed with mastering but suggest our mixing service or issue a full refund.

If you know that the mix of your song isn't exactly where it needs to be yet, and you want to improve it yourself but are stuck and need some guidance...You can order detailed (written) feedback on your mix. You can then use the guidelines to improve the mix before uploading for mastering.
